Vance Boelter didn’t just kill. He hunted. He dressed like a cop. He wore a latex mask. He knocked on doors in the dark and opened fire. State Rep. Melissa Hortman and her husband are dead. State Sen. John Hoffman and his wife barely survived.
This wasn’t random. This was targeted political violence.
Authorities found a notebook in Boelter’s fake police vehicle. Not a diary. Not a rant. A list. Nearly 70 names. Minnesota Democrats. Abortion providers. High-ranking officials. Sen. Amy Klobuchar. Rep. Ilhan Omar. Gov. Tim Walz. Attorney General Keith Ellison. Lt. Gov. Peggy Flanagan. Sen. Tina Smith. Rep. Kelly Morrison. The list goes on.
Some of them confirmed they were on it. Others didn’t need to. Security was increased without them asking. That says enough.
But the public hasn’t seen the manifesto.
Law enforcement says it’s not a traditional manifesto. They call it a notebook. They say it’s fragmented. They say releasing it could compromise the investigation.
That’s the line.
But here’s what we know. The document exists. It was found in multiple locations. It contains names. It outlines intent. And it’s being withheld.
This isn’t about curiosity. It’s about accountability.
When a man impersonates law enforcement, executes elected officials, and leaves behind a written roadmap of political targets, the public has a right to know what fueled that rage.
The FBI called it “targeted political violence.” Minnesota’s governor used the same words. So why is the manifesto still sealed?
Transparency isn’t optional in a democracy.
The longer the document stays hidden, the louder the questions grow. What did Boelter believe? What pushed him to kill? Who else was on that list? Were there patterns? Were there warnings?
