According to employers current pay raises are keeping up with if not beating inflation. They expect the average employee to get 3 1/2% increase in their wages this year and the official inflation numbers are at 2.9%. However we just got a huge revision with the jobs numbers, which tells us the government data is not accurate which also means the inflation data is not accurate and is probably a lot higher than what is being reported. When you take that into consideration, people aren’t getting raises, they’re actually falling behind the cost of living.
